I end up being confused."

So, tis good you're not seeing any problem with our discussion. Me...I was not complaining, simply trying to understand what you were saying. As I stated to Laurie elsewhere, I can do light hearted and I can do heavy...but I don't do mind games as I understand them.

And there's the key! I bet most people don't do mind games as they understand them because they may not even realize they're doing it. They think they're just talking or relating to others or debating a point. They don't see it as a mind game.
-
So they're not DELIBERATELY playing mind games because their definition and perspective is different.

See what I mean?

"And there's the key! I bet most people don't do mind games as they understand them because they may not even realize they're doing it." Crikey...so they're doing mind-games but lack the insight to understand them. So, the few who believe they have the insight, do all the manipulating?

I meant to say re mind games: "as I apply the term" because you guys apply different meanings to words. Are "we" now talking about what other people do in other topics...OR what is bogging down discussion here from my perspective?

"See what I mean?

When you read my posts, do you see what I mean...or do you apply some mind game criteria to it?

Nope...I think I'm getting confused with someone else. If I believed this topic started as a mind game, I would not have joined in.

aaahh! The old problem of being caught. I'm sure we're not even going to agree on what the problem is here. Some people are forced into a fake "sorry" AFTER they're caught or feign repentance to escape a prison sentence etc.

On the flipside is the old truism "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." And you got me a beauty not just in in your opening post. happy happy ABC

Personally, I liked that post. I think it's pretty true and it underscores the important value of the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

I don't know 'bout anasognosia (gotta look that one up!) but I do think some people lack the insight, yes. That -- or they just think their way of thinking is normal. We all think that, don't we?

NOPE. Post 1: "Is this a place where one might expect to get a reasoned answer to an honest question?" was the question you posed.

The spectre of bunny trails and mind games as I call them, were introduced ...and now, even 'lurker psychology'.

Well, I really can't meaningfully add to all this as per my preceding posts.

Post #1 in this thread was made by Laurie.

Ok, ok. I see. What happened was that Laurie posted the Post #1 here; but, it was a copy of a post I had made in another thread. That was what was confusing me.
.
So, I'll go back and read your recent questions about it.
.
Sorry. I can be thick headed sometimes. Must have some Dutch blood in there somewhere.
