No, I don't think so. It was more of a badge I could wear. You know how a 17 year old might have been back in 1949?

I bragged about it to some of my friends and that was when she cancelled her acceptance. I think she got wind of it. I knew her for many years. Never had any romantic attachement to her in the least. But, I was always happy that she had been one of my teachers with whom I could have access to for help in questions related to geometry. And, I did on a few occasions. I had several teachers that I developed a true likeing for without any romantic attachments. I think there is a special kind of non-romantic love that can exist between students and teachers.
