A strange malady.

My brother, sisters, and I have all experienced panic attacks and all at the same age in our experiences--around our mid-forties.

Attacks have been associated with menieres ear syndrome. In fact, many panic attack patients are treated for menieres.
.
I remember I had a strong sense of feeling like I was going to fall off the earth. And, it seemed like my heart was moving around in my chest. One of my sisters felt like she had to get right down on the ground and to hold on. My brother was counseled to take a slug of brandy and do some running exercises. In each of our cases, the symptoms lasted from time to time for a year or two and then disappeared. A sister and my brother are still concerned about return bouts. I think I figured it was middle life crisis. My case was mild.
