» redback - bogged blogs?
In 'let's Get Personal', Laurie, after admitting she doesn't read them at all, asks: "What do YOU think of blogs? Do you read them, write them, or dismiss them?"In the 'discouraged' topic, I had earlier given a blog link to a lifetime friend of mine...in context. His writings, poetry...motivations, come from life experiences not academia..altho' he has that too. His 'desire' is driven by 'anger'.
This name 'blog' is computer-speak. For me, if I know where a person is coming from, I tend to better understand what they're writing...or may even be encouraged to read them in the first place. Crikey, I even read Laurie's blog. ABC
Here, we used to have the facility for a bio and that gave background. And me giving some personal background seemed to help certain readers...ignore me with feeling. ![]()
Re suite101, if I didn't understand where a person was coming from..either from a concise blog or buried within a plethora of posts, I'd probably think they were ruder than first impressions.
It is not distrust that routinely causes me to check the bios of people who are cited here. Do they really have the street cred posters claim and what other interesting things do they say? Crikey, I'm guessing less people would have started reading the Bible without getting some detail of Jesus' blog?
