» Feature Writer Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen - how will you spend it?

I've never been into Valentine's Day -- maybe because I've never had a romantic dinner or big gesture of love!

Anyone doing anything exciting for Valentine's -- or are you dreading it?

Valentine's Day.
.
Some of my best memories are of Valentine's Day.
.
Third grade! I split my time in school between a city school with graded class rooms and a one room country school.
.
I remember the third grade when we gave out Valentine's in our class room. What fun that was. We got some nice cards with a candy sucker and little packets of hearts with different messages on them.
.
That set up a tradition for people my age (76 this summer) and some of my best fun and fond memories are around February 14th.
.
I even produced a Valentine's Day Party for the city children with police officers as the hosts. They showed up in uniforms. The kids loved it.
.
St. Valentine. Where did I hear that he was a Persian?
.

I'm finding out it's hard to get the topic heading we want listed. I'm sure yours had something to do with Valentine's Day. happy

Never say never. They're all a distant memory to me now, but I recall if I was not spontaneous at the time, I was in BIG trouble. Hard to be spontaneous after such a a big reminder as yours happy

But some special thoughts:

What did the pencil say to the paper?

"I dot my i's on you!"

AND:

"To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance."

» Feature Writer Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen - who was Valentine?

In response to Valentine For Laurie posted by pink101:

Thanks for the Valentine, pink! happy

My husband says it's about rekindling love and reminding one another of the romance we once shared - and showing affection and intimacy. He figures in 15 or 20 years we'll be more into Valentine's Day -- because we'll be taking each other for granted then.

I'll look up St Valentine, not sure if he was Persian??

My favorite Valentine's Days were definitely in elementary school, with red construction paper "mailboxes". What fun!

Well, pink...of course, I was looking for a similar message for Laurie but wandered across the messages above instead. I'll probably 'borrow' yours to send to a dear friend of mine. I've copied the cherubs gif too so will scatter them throughout the email. ABC happy
