» Feature Writer Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen - Do you set resolutions?

The discussion about goals started me thinking about New Year's.

As a kid, I wrote down my resolutions and tried to achieve them...and probably failed every year! I don't do that anymore, but I feel like I'm programmed to think of resolutions as January approaches.

Do you think they set us up for failure? Maybe worth an article.....

Actually, I resolve not to have New Year's resolutions! :o) Seriously, though, for some reason September seems to me to be the time for resolutions. It might have something to do with the start of school but it seems like the fall is a better time to take stock of things and try to implement changes.

Yes, September is a time of new beginnings for me, too. New goals, fresh starts....all our years of education has pounded this into us!

January may be a crummy time to set resolutions, since it's cold, wet, dark, rainy, snowy.....miserable in most places!
