Failure is Always an Option

Does achievement require obsession?

How do you know if you're obsessed with something, or simply determined to achieve? The more I write, the more I love it - my hubby calls me a "write-aholic". I think I'm simply a writer.

I've failed so many times - not getting published, not winning contests or even a rejection letter - and yet I can't give it up!

Yet, failure is valuable. It would be more valuable of course if I actually knew why I was failing (poor sentence structure, lousy ideas, good ideas but bad timing, etc), but even so I can see my mistakes and the areas in which I can improve.

Failure does provide opportunity and can be motivational - as corny as that sounds!
