Here's how to use The Secret to create more abundance in your life. Rhonda Byrne's Law of Attraction is about creating positive energy to achieve your goals.

The Secret on the Oprah Show is all about the Law of Attraction. When you learn to use The Secret, you apply the Law of Attraction to your everyday life. The reality of your life is that you create it! If you create positive energy, you will achieve your goals. The Secret Law of Attraction contains powerful thoughts.

Applying the Law of Attraction to Your Life

Most of us focus on things we don't want. We don't want to be broke, unhappy, fat, or alone. Instead of focusing on the negative, focus on what you do want because the universe responds to what you're interested in. What you focus on creates positive energy and expands. What you give your attention to always gets bigger. If you focus on your lack of money or time, you'll just increase your lack.

Energy flows where attention goes, and every choice you've made has led you to where you are right now. It's been up to you – and it's not over yet.

Applying the Law of Attraction to Your Life: Science Backs The Secret up

Everything is energy – even us. We're a field of energy in a larger field of energy, and like attracts like. Even if your thoughts are unconscious, they attract certain things to yourself, over and over. This is why we have repeated results – because we attract the same things repeatedly, because of our thoughts and actions.

Applying the Law of Attraction to Your Life: God and The Secret

"Pray believing that you already have, and you will receive." The metaphysical thinking of the Law of Attraction reinforces Christianity, or any belief in God, because you have free will and the ability to choose. If you make choices that are loving and full of life, you'll expand the love and fullness in your life. Everything is accountable for the things they do – or don't do. To a limited degree, these laws describe how God is.

Applying the Law of Attraction to Your Life: Steps to Achieving Your Goals

  1. With intention, describe the kind of life that you want (not the life you don't want). Be detailed.
  2. Keep your attention focused on what you want. Know it's coming, know you already have an amazing life. Step forward and take action in the direction you want to go. If this is want you want to be, what do you have to do?

Taking action in your life can be writing down what you want and reading it every day. It can be creating a vision board of your goals and looking at it every morning. Be with what you want until it becomes so much a part of you that you're not even thinking about it anymore. You'll find your positive energy and flow, and create more abundance in your life.

Things to consider when you're applying the Law of Attraction to your life:

  • If you're struggling, you're moving in the wrong direction. Life was not meant to be a great struggle; it was meant to be joyously abundant. When you apply the Law of Attraction to your life, you won't find it a slow, painful process.
  • Discover how you can provide value, how you can serve the world. Follow your creative mindset and your passion. Tremendously successful people don't try to make money; they do what they love. What juices you up? What can you do better than anybody? Applying the Law of Attraction to your life involves knowing yourself.
  • Mediocrity attacks excellence. People are happy when you're at their level. If you're going beyond yourself (and beyond them), people will resist and fight it. Take a different, better approach: when something good happens to someone else, celebrate their success and excellence! Applying the Law of Attraction to your life involves letting that happiness and success move through you and bring you even more success and happiness.
  • True forgiveness is saying you don't want the past to be any different. Forgiving people and thanking them for the experience they gave you will release you to live a full life. Unforgiveness is a form of self abuse. The message is that you want to keep repeating the experience over and over. Forgive for you, and release the toxic energy from your body. Applying the Law of Attraction to your life involves true forgiveness.

I am the author of a book on van Gogh, "At Eternity's Gate: the Spiritual Vision of Vincent van Gogh," and a Ph. D. in the History of Christianity. Check out my website for reviews of my book - http://www.dotcomprofiles.com/kpe/index.html Recently, I have been reflecting on the relationship between the "New Age" concept of the "Law of Attraction" and Christianity. While I do believe that all matter is energy and we influence what we attract into our lives by how we think, sitting in my living room, thinking positive thoughts to help me sell my home, find a great job, provide financial abundance, and deliver the perfect mate to my doorstep, just seems "weird." Still, I am going through a major crisis, and life change, as a result of fraud and I want to turn this around. I believe in miracles, as I have seen them in the lives of others and experienced them in my own. My frame of reference is Christianity (not fundamentalist Christianity, albeit, but Christianity, none-the-less). So, how do I practice the Law of Attraction as a Christian? While reading the scripture for last Sunday's worship service (in my Evangelical Lutheran church), I came across a detailed road map in Paul's letter to the Philippians. So, here is my commentary on applying the principles of Christianity to the Law of Attraction, based on the incredibly insightful words of St. Paul.

(There is no room to post here, but I have a blog posted at http://christianityandthelawofattraction.blogspot.com/)
